New Design...again

I’m using a new template design! I wanted to add some new options to my posts, but in order to do that, I have to use the new Blogger Template Designer. It seems like it doesn’t work for old templates.

I’m a little sad because I’ve changed the design recently and I started to like it. O well, the new layout is quite neat!

  • Labels are added in each post and they are located under the post title. This allows you to search for related posts just by one click. Piece of cake!
  • Share buttons are added and you can find them at the bottom of each post. Sharing is caring, so why not share some posts to your friends, families, co-workers, etc!

I took a screenshot of my old template…just for memories lol! I'll be changing some little things here and there, so bear with me. I hope you guys will enjoy this new design.

Have a great week!

Birthday Weekend!

What a fun weekend! Two special birthdays, lots of delicious food, and friends that I haven't seen for a while.

First birthday girl...Happy Birthday to my elementary school friend!

Meet CD :)

I really love the colours in this card. I added some green because that's her favourite colour and good thing I picked the right green paper because she said she loves flowers!

See CD's birthday card from last year.

Second birthday girl...Happy Birthday to my Cupcake!

Do you remember this pretty face? It's Lena from the DDA Craft Fair! :)

A cupcake card for my Cupcake :)

Since she's a crafter herself, I made sure this card is extra detailed! For the cherries on the cupcakes, I glued green wires as stems and curled them with my new tools that I make jewellery with :)

See Lena's birthday card from last year.

On the side note:
A and I visited I Found Gallery again. This time, we bought a lot of vintage supplies to make our necklaces. If you can't wait to see what I've made, you're in luck because A just posted her newest handmade necklaces...that's right, necklaceS :)

Take a look at her most recent post, "I’d love for you to adorn my neck…" I will post mine sometimes this week, but for now...I should finish my paper for Business Law...

Cake Decorating Class

This has nothing to do with handmade cards, but I want to share my other hobbies! ...I like to bake! :)

For the past 4 weeks, I've been taking a cake decorating class at Michaels with my new friend :) We registered for the Decorating Basics course and our instructor taught us how to decorate our cakes with icing tips to create pretty designs like rosettes, shells, pompom flowers, ribbons roses, and many more!

Sunflowers, Shaggy mums, pompom flowers, and a heart with shells borders.

The downside of this class is the amount of time spent in baking and making the buttercream icing. I usually don’t have fun making the icing because my arms usually get exhausted from mixing. Another drawback is the amount of money spent because students have to bring and/or purchase their own supplies and tools. They recommend buying the store’s Wilton Cake Decorating Kits and it's kind of pricey (good thing I had a 50% off coupon!).

I won't be continuing to Course 2: Flowers and Cake Designs. If I ever need to learn something, I will ask my good friends, YouTube and Google ;)

Anyways, here are some pictures from my class:

OH! There were two birthday girls this weekend, so be sure to come back to see their birthday cards! :)

Daddy's Overalls

I was going to make Martha Stewart's Button-Down Father's Day Card, but I changed my mind because I've made a shirt for my dad last year. I wanted to make something different, so this year I gave him overalls! It's soooo cute! :P My mom and little brother thought it was an apron though :(

There were a few things I would change. I would change the shape to a more square-ish form. Also, I wish I had a different thick ribbon to use because the flowery straps are a bit girly (I need to buy more thick ribbons!). Other than that, I'm quite happy with my dad's overalls and it seems like he likes it too!

I love adding little details to my cards! For this card, I drew tiny stitches onto the pockets to make it look like real stitches. Also, I thought it would be cute and funny to attach one small and one big button on the overalls. Lastly, I rolled up the "I ♥ U" label so it'll stick out. I don't know about you, but majority of my labels on my clothes are either rolled up, folded, or ripped out...I don't like them.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Father's Day! I had sushi with my daddy! :)

Take a look at what I've made for my dad last Father's Day!

Ideas for Father's Day 2010

Father's Day is tomorrow! I have no idea what to make yet so hopefully this post will help me get started...and hopefully give you some ideas.

  1. Daddy's Pocket

I'm loving cards with pockets! It's great for holding tags and photos! I made one for A's birthday...maybe I'll make one for my dad.
Visit Free-CardMaking's website to download this project or to browse around.

  2. Button-Down Father's Day Card

I made my dad a fancy jacket suit card last year, so maybe this year I can make him a casual shirt :D The shirt on the right is cute! It has a jacket with lapels and a pocket with a handkerchief.
Martha Stewart, I love your craft projects!

Check out the ideas that I posted last year post.

Good Luck

I'm leaving to Vegas in a couple of hours!!! I'm so excited! Unfortunately, I can't fall asleep right now because I just painted my nails and I'm waiting for them to dry. I guess I'll have to catch some sleep on the plane :P

Dear friends, I'm sorry if I'm going to be cranky in the morning :( lol!

Anyways, I thought I should post one more card before I head off to Vegas! My older brother asked me to make an encouragement card to give to his friend. I love this bouquet of flowers because it's so colouful and bright! I hope his friend will do well on the exam...it sounds pretty important! Good luck!

Okay, I must close my eyes for a bit!

Don't miss me too much :*) I will try to borrow A's laptop...I'll have to charm to her hehehe.

Have a great weekend!

Class of 2010

I'm going to take a break from studying and packing (Vegas in TWO days!) and post the graduation cards that I have made for my old summer school friend.

Most of the papers and stickers are from My Momenta's Simply Perfect Page Kit for Graduation. This kit includes 147 pieces! Visit their website to see other kits they have and check out their free designer downloads! But wait, I HAVE to show you one of their Glitter Puffy Stickers:

Okay, enough with the cuteness. Enjoy! :)

Yeah, I know...the last card was the odd one. The colours of the first four cards are kinda dark, so I wanted something more colourful to play with. Plus, it's something new :)

Congratulations, Class of 2010!

Thanks a Bunch - Part 2

This is part two of Thanks a Bunch.

Here are the other two cards that I’ve made for my friend. I hope the people who received their card are happy! I also hope there's enough glitter...lol! Enjoy!

Another friend of mine requested some graduation cards for his friends. I’ll post the pictures of the cards as soon as I finish making them. I have some ideas already…I better scribble them in my sketch book before I forget!

Anyways, my friends and I are going to Vegas in NINE days! I'm so excited because I haven't been on a vacation for some time now....and also, I can't wait to leave this gloomy weather!
Oh Mister Sun, Sun, Mister Golden Sun…Please shine down on me.
