More birthdays!

I just made 2 more birthday cards, but I forgot to take a picture of one of them =( I'll try to get a picture of it! But for now, here's one of them... :)

The card started out like this...

then I decided to add more since I like my cards to be flashy and glittery. hehe

May is over soon...I had so much fun making so many cards! I can't wait for next month! I'll be making cards for birthdays and Father's day. Oh, and some cards for a special occasion! I'm keeping that a secret for now! wooo. I'm drooling!

Ideas for Mother's Day

This is a friendly reminder that Mother's Day is this Sunday.

I thought Mother's Day was last week, so if this reminder doesn't work for you...then it's only for me. lol

So, did you buy your mom a nice gift(s)? If so, that's great! But to win some extra points, why not make her a card!? I found some easy and fun projects that will make your mom smile :)

  1. Mother's Day Card

    Fiskars Crafts
This looks a bit complicated, but if you ignore the stitches and use printed papers and stickers...you can make a card similar to that.
See Fiskars Crafts' Website for more details and instructions.

  2. Photograph Card For Mom

    Martha Stewart
The cards in the middle and on the right side are quite simple to make. If you're familiar with scrapbooking then this should be a piece of chocolate cake to you! :) Just add some stickers and a thoughtful message with a photograph and you're done!
Take a look at Martha Stewart's website to see more. You can also get the instructions on how to make the puzzle card (on the left side).

  3. Precious Hands For Mom

    Michaels Craft Store
I remember doing this when I was little and it was super fun! Your mom will treasure this gift forever... I have proof because my mom still does :) I recommend this project for kids, but that shouldn't stop you if you're not a kid! ;)
You can buy this molding kit at Michaels Craft Store.

Card Kits + Baby Card

My BFF suggested that I should make some pre-made cards to save some time...what a wonderful idea! Thanks! :) So I made some different shapes of cards..some are squared-shaped and some with windows.

soooo...

sureL's BFF's tips and techniques. lol

pre-made cards = save time = good.

Card Kits ...almost like emergency kits ;)
Most card kits are sorted by themes, such as birthdays, love & romance, and weddings. It's so useful because you can put anything together and it will still look pretty. This party-themed card kit by DCWV (see picture below) includes:
- over 190 stickers
- 10 printed textured cardstock cards
- 10 solid textured cardstock cards
- 5 sheets of printed paper.

So, if you're in a hurry (maybe because you forgot someone's birthday? ...lol) be sure to take out your emergency card kit! =D

Party Card Kit in a Stack

From DCWV- The Stack Company.

I was in a rush to make this card, so it looks kinda plain :( And I didn't have an emergency card kit...which I'll now add to my "Things to Buy" list. :) I'll redeem myself for the baby shower party or when the baby comes (or perhaps both? muhaha)

Baby Card
Congrats to my uncle and auntie!

Wedding Card

I made my first wedding card! yay! It was nice taking a break from making birthday cards :)

Wedding Card
Here's another example of a window-shaped card. This card is different from the previous one.

♥white card stock, 25cm x 12.5cm
♥for the window, cut out a square (6cm x 6cm)
♥Cut four strips of (pink) paper with decorative-edge scissors and attach the strips to the back side of the window
♥design four 2.8cm x 2.8cm squares on graph paper
♥put the squares on the front of the card and poke the four corners of each of the four squares
♥cut out four squares with a craft knife
♥attach a 10cm x 10cm (ivory-white-ish) square to the back side of the frame
♥start decorating! :)

(Instructions for this window-shaped card were taken from "The Art of Card Making" by Claire Sun-ok Choi, et. al.)
