Mother's Day Origami Dress

Happy Mother's Day!

Here's a card that I was inspired by a picture that I pinned on Pinterest. I was preparing for an origami session and my mom told me how much she love the dress. From that,  I decided to make an origami dress card for Mother's Day. The origami dress tutorial was taken from Inklings and Yarns' blog.

Origami dress for my mom

Edit: View this card at Craftgaker! :)

I'm loving the mini clothespin! The twine and washi tape also makes a cute combination to this card which my mom thought it was adorable.

I love the mini clothespin!

Tools and Supplies used:

♥ Deep purple cardstock paper by Recollection's Halloween pack
♥ Floral origami paper (gifted from a friend)
Mint green stripe slim washi tape by Recollections
Mini clothespin
Glitter glue in Diamond by Tulip
Grey and white twine by American Crafts
Watermark stamp pad by VersaMark
Hearts cling on stamp by Recollections

The watermarks create a nice background

And here's one of my favourite  photos of me and my momma back in 2011. This picture is funny because we didn't plan to wear similar clothing pieces, accessories, and shoes.

Twinsies!

Here are some Mother's Day card that I made in the past:

Enjoy the rest of the weekend! :)

  1. The heart stamp is really cute! I have the same one and was planning on trying out the VersaMark Watermark stamp as well but I was wondering how do you use it? Is it only used for embossing powders or can you use it alone?

    1. Hi Artsy Sketch! Thanks for your comment :)

The only tricky thing about this stamp is if you have a wider paper, you'll have to stamp more than once and match the hearts together. As you can see on the sides of the stamp, the hearts are in halves. When you stamp for the second time, make sure you align the other half of the hearts together.

I have not tried this stamp with embossing powder, but it sounds like a great idea! I would use the Versamark stamp pad, stamp it, and sprinkle the embossing powder. It'll definitely create a nice effect and background.

I hope that makes sense :) Keep me posted on your crafts. Happy Crafting!
