You Make Me Smile, Dad

Happy Daddy's Day!

I spent the whole afternoon with the family ♥ We had dim sum in morning and then we went to the Car Free Vancouver Day. My dad was talking about this event yesterday so we decided to check it out. But first, let me show you my card for my wonderful dad.
Happy Father's Day

Tools and Supplies used:
♥ White card stock
♥ Green with polka dots scrapbook paper ('Tis the Season stack) by DCWV
Light green scrapbook paper ('Tis the Season stack) by DCWV
Light brown with small polka dots (Holiday Collection stack) by DCWV
2.5mm white pearl jewel stickers
Curly Small Alphabets clear stamps #54 by doodlebug design Inc.
Smile clear stamps #13 by doodlebug design Inc.
Watermark stamp pad by VersaMark
♥ Glitter glue in Diamond by Tulip
♥ 1/2" Round Corner squeeze punch by Fiskars
Did you notice that I used the scrapbook papers from my holiday paper stacks? :) It's nice that I can still them for other occasions. I like the "dad" watermarks on this card.

My dad makes me smile :)

And here's the gift from me and my brothers. We got him a coin album from the Royal Canadian Mint (here) and a polo. My dad was showing me some of his coins that he has been collecting and I noticed that he keeps all his coins in a jar. Now that my dad has an album, he can show off his coin collection. And the polo is for him to look even more handsome :)

Gifts for my dad!

Now back to the Car Free street festival! This event is to promote their community and reduce car dependency. It was quite fun walking down from 12th to 29th on Main Street because there was live music playing at every block. There were also sidewalk sales to shop, live shows to watch, and food to eat! My family actually stopped walking around 16th Street because there were too many people (see picture below).

I bought some really pretty ribbons from Wedding Things. They were 3 for $10CDN.  I had a great time look through the boxes of ribbons! There were some wedding/bridal favours as well..which would have been perfect for my friends' bridal showers that just passed. O well. Anyways, meet my new ribbons (from top to bottom):
  • Kelly Green stitched grosgrain ribbon with white stitching - 5/8" wide and 25 yards (here)
  • Purple satin ribbon - 5/8" wide and 100 yards (here)
  • Wine satin ribbon - 5/8" wide and 100 yards (here)
Just added to my ribbon collection :)

I wished I bought more colours, but I really don't need 100 yards of ribbon (even 25 yards is too much). This will definitely last for a long time! Now, the question is: how will this fit into my craft drawer?

The shopping bag was really cute! I really like the scallop edging on the top. It's very different from other bags.

Hope you enjoyed reading this post. Have a great week!
