Christmas Cards For Friends - Part 2

This is part two of Christmas Card for Friends. You can click here to view the first post.

My Christmas card are quite simple mainly because I have so many to make. However, they are still made with lots of love and glitter! I added the glitter myself :) I'm not sure if you can see that in the pictures, but I drew lines and dotted with a glitter glue using my two hands! Friends, I love you that much ;)

Once again, enjoy these three cards that I have made for my friends. Be sure to come back to see more Christmas cards.

Peace...Love...Joy...

Christmas Cards For Friends

I was happily crafting on Thursday night and I managed to make ten Christmas cards for my friends. It feels nice to craft again after a long (and painful) semester. Last night we celebrated my good friend DV's birthday. We also had our Secret Santa gift exchange at A's house. It was a fun night! :)

I'll post the first three cards today for now. Enjoy!

I'm Making Christmas Cards!

Hello! I'm back! I was quite occupied with my school work for the past two weeks, but now that Fall semester just ended on Tuesday, it feels great to catch up on my sleep and to relax!

Anyways, since I didn't participate any craft fairs this year, I have decided to make Holiday cards! This is my first time so I'm quite excited and overwhelmed at the same time. I have a lot to make...I just love my friends, families, and co-workers :)

I just started today, so this is what I have so far (see picture below). Yeap, I made zero cards as of now...my supplies are still in the box. I'd better get cracking...

The weekend is just around the corner...and so is Christmas! :O

Domo-kun's Underpants

Hello!

This card is completely different from Domo-kun's birthday suit, but it's still cute! I made this one for my little brother's birthday...just because he like this cartoon character as well :)

My Trip to Nikkei Place's Craft & Bake Fair

My friends and I went to the Nikkei Place's Craft & Bake Fair today. I'm really glad that I went because I enjoyed shopping and looking at every table. There were a lot of handmade Japanese jewellery, hand-knits, clothing, cards, and many other amazing crafts! There were also delicious waffles and Japanese desserts.

PT got a miniature bonsai and A got an really pretty necklace holder for her work ID. As for me, I bought two handmade card with a Japanese doll on the front...so pretty!

Domo-kun's Birthday Suit

I hope everyone had a relaxing long weekend! :)

Is anyone a big fan of Domo-kun?! This cute cartoon character, どーも くん, is the official mascot of a Japanese television station. A friend of mine requested me to make a Domo card for his girlfriend.

The pictures in this post show Domo wearing a black suit, white dress shirt, and a green tie...he's ready to go to the birthday party! :)

Domo wishes you a very Happy Birthday! :)
(See this card at craftgawker)
Here's a closer shot of the card (see below). You can take out the handkerchief to write your own personal message! Cute, right?!

Write your own message on the handkerchief

I made this Domo-kun card to match his birthday card that I made for him back in May.

Matching birthday cards!

If you like this card, be sure to come back to see a similar one ;)

Happy Monday, everyone!

Remember to Wear Your Poppy

The poppy is the official symbol of remembrance worn during the two weeks before November 11th. So don't forget to wear your poppy to commemorate the sacrifices that men and women made in armed conflicts, including World Wars I and II.

Have a great weekend!

Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween, everyone!

How did you guys spend your Halloween weekend? :) I spent my weekend with my friends and we did some fun Halloween activities! Gnomie, A, and I carve pumpkins. This is our third year carving pumpkins and I think they improve each year...not me because my cupcake pumpkin from last year didn't look presentable (lol). This year, I decided to carve Hoho the monkey from Ni Hao, Kai-Lan...I carved it for the little ones :)

Buttons and Pearls

Burrrr! It's getting chilly in Vancouver! I'm just recovering from a cold which I probably got due to a lack sleep from last week.

Anyway, I bought a bag of buttons, that's right, a bag! Not that my collection wasn't enough...I bought it from a wedding liquidation sale back in June. The wedding designer was selling accessories, fabrics, hangers, etc and all the proceeds went to the Tapestry Foundation for Health Care of Mt. St. Joseph Hospital. AS bought some pretty neat stuff for her wedding while I stocked up on ribbons and buttons :)

So many buttons to choose from!

After many months, I have finally opened that bag of buttons. For CH's birthday card, I decided to make something Fall related since her birthday is exactly one month after the first day of Fall. I used some darker shades of autumn colour like brown, green, and blue so that the Happy Birthday message pops out. The button and pearls added a nice touch to the card :)

Happy Birthday, CH!

Another Cupcake Card

Hihi!

It's going to be a quick post because I have lots of things to do for school. This is one of my quick "brain breaks" :)

So here's another birthday cupcake card to add to the collection. I like how this colourful cupcake draws so much attention to the middle while the rest is simply blue and white. This card was made for CS and she thought the cupcake was one of those "scratch and smell" stickers...I wish :(

Happy Birthday, CS!

Okay, my break is over. Have a wonderful week!

Japanese Flower Tape

Hello and Happy Friday! :)

For this project, I used a Japanese flower tape to make this card for KC's birthday. I was inspired by Omiyage's blog  because they used a whole bunch of Japanese washi tapes and other supplies to create beautiful craft projects. Check out their colourful tapes!

Home Sweet Home & Wooden Stamps

My best dudette, A, and her family recently moved into their new house. What's so awesome about this is that we're only less than five minutes walking distance from each other! Muhahhaa! We're neighborinos ;)

I had to quickly make them a card so I can help A pack her very last box. I bought this "Home Sweet Home" wooden block stamp set a long time ago, so I was very excited to use it. Unfortunately, I dabbed too much ink onto the rubber stamp so it left a weird ink spot :( I even tried to cover it up by dabbing a little bit of ink to create an antique look...didn't really work.

Home Sweet Home
I'm more comfortable in using clear rubber stamps mainly because I can see where I'm stamping on the paper. If you're like me, here are some tips on how to use wooden stamps that may help you:

Making Presents Out of Scrap Papers

Hello hello! It's the weekend!

I have a lot of scrap papers from previous craft projects and I like to keep them thinking that I will use the excess paper in the future. Although I use scrap papers once in a while, I just can't throw away or recycle good paper. Does anyone else feel that way? :P This kinda remind me of my "I Like to Collect Stuff" post.

Using scrap papers to make presents

Click on "Read More" to learn a simple way on how to make presents out of scrap papers

**Note: Not recommended to give this as an actual and only "present" to anyone ;)

My Birthday!

Hi guys! I'm using my little brother's computer right now because my laptop is not cooperating with me :(

Anyway, last week I celebrated my birthday with my wonderful friends. We had dinner at a restaurant with a beautiful view of the city. I had so much fun! Thanks, friends and families, for making my birthday another memorable one! I heart you all.

Here's a picture of all the cards I got from friends. So colourful and oh so sparkly :)!

Birthday Dress and Shoes

Hi everyone!

Today is my birthday! Yay :) I want to show you guys my birthday dress and shoes that I will be wearing tonight...

Blue dress
Pink pumps
Just kidding :) I'll be wearing something else. The diagrams are from Fashion Origami by Mark Bolitho. The heels were hard to make...I had to make up my own folds because I didn't understand the diagram. The blue dress was fun to fold though.

What do you guys think? I am I fashion designer now? lol

Anyway, please look forward to my next post on my birthday par-tay :)

Happy Birthday & Going Away Card

Happy Birthday, TK!

She's in Czech Republic right now, but if you're reading this...Happy Birthday and I hope you're having an awesome time! :)

TK's friends and I made a special gift for her birthday and going away party. We all wrote letters to her so that she can read them on the plane. We also made her a small photo album...because we knew she'll miss us ;)

I'll Fold You Something Pretty

Hello! I hope everyone had an awesome summer! I have to apologize for not updating my blog :( This special post will show focus on my other hobby which is...drum roll, please...origami! haha I'm sure some of you already knew that :P

Some of the executives from the SFU Origami Club and I volunteered to teach origami. The first event was located at the Nikkei Museum & Heritage Centre. Last month, the centre hosted a Japanese culture event for a day camp. There were fun activities for the kids to do and to teach them some Japanese culture and heritage.

Nikkei Centre supports Japan earthquake and tsunami relief efforts.

The second event was at the Mackin House Museum. Today, they were celebrating Mackin House’s 102nd Birthday (Wow!) We got a brief history of the house and it was quite interesting. Click here if you want to read about it. There were many multicultural activities going on today such as henna tattooing, music and dance performances, and of course, origami folding.

Flowers!

Joseph Wu, an origami expert, was there too! It was my first time meeting him, so that was exciting :) His creations are amazing, so check out his gallery by clicking here.

Our table was located in the master bedroom of
Henry James Mackin's and his wife's! :O

I always have fun volunteering in these kinds of events. It's so rewarding when I get to share my hobby to the public. Also, I get to meet new people and learn new things! :) Anyways, I'm ending this blog post with this heart cube that I folded last month. Enjoy!

C is for...

It was CH's birthday last week! I made her a pink card with polka dots this year. To make this card more personalized, I added a tag with her first initial on it. The pink bow, yellow trimming, and turquoise colour makes the tag pop out from the pink.

Happy Birthday, CH!

Hello Kitty Inspired Birthday Card

Hi Everyone!

A few people asked me where I got my inspirations from when I make cards. Well, half of them are inspired by crafters and the other half is "it-just-popped-in-mind." I'm not sure how to explain, but the idea just comes :) Here's an example where my Hello Kitty notebook inspired me to make a birthday card.

Before I start, I want to say: Happy Birthday, Cupcake! :)

Untie and open some happiness :)

Coach Wallet Birthday Card

Happy Birthday, CD! :)

My other craft partner, Missy, and I made this cute Coach wallet birthday card. It was Missy's idea to make a wallet birthday card since three if us (including A) got CD a gift card to Coach. I suggested to use the shopping bag to make a "real" Coach wallet. Both of us were quite impressed by how the card looked like in the end. Be sure to click on "read more" to see what's in the wallet! ;)

Birthday Cards from May

As promised, here are some pictures of the birthday cards for the May babies. Enjoy! :)

The first card was requested by DC. He specifically asked for a black suit and red tie. During a card making workshop for SFU Origami Club, he picked up one of the suit cards and asked me if he could have one (now you own one!). The very first suit card was for  Father's day which was two years ago.
