Something Blue Bridal Shower

Hello Monday and everyone!

Yesterday's was bride-to-be (in less than 2 weeks!), LC's bridal shower. Check out her blog at Confessions of an Asian Bride. We celebrated at the Shaw Tower in Downtown Vancouver and the view was amazing. Not only that, LC's friends and families, yummy food, and fun games made this bridal shower very memorable! Her bridal party did an fabulous job.

July Sunflower Munchkins Update

Here's another post to bring you up to date on the sunflower munchkins that I've been growing. They are looking good so far since the June update. The smaller ones on the left seems to be drying up but I've been watering them often. I may have I planted too many seeds in the pot.

Looks like something is growing in the middle!

Come back soon for the August update :)

Colourful Birthday Card

Here's a birthday card that I made for my crafty friend, sixcranberries. This card was fun to make! A bit of washi tape, a rubber-stamped sentiment and pretty stickers for a quick and easy birthday greeting. The colours are just so fun!

Happy Birthday!

Tools and Supplies used:
♥ White cardstock
♥ Yellow stripes from Fashionably Chic Paper Stack by Recollections
Stitched tag by Martha Stewart
Pink with white polka dots washi tape by Recollections

Funny story, I planned to add a bow on top of the tag and, for some silly reason, I stamped it upside down! Anyway, emergency plan B turned out great too.

June Sunflower Munchkins Update

Have you been curious about the Little Sunflower Munchkins since the last update? I lost count of the days and they are growing fast!

Leaves are growing bigger

Now that they're getting bigger, they aren't as cute anymore. They are growing so fast :*) I'm starting to wonder if I should have planted less seeds because I'm worried if they have enough room to grow. Anyway, they are looking quite dashing so far!

Have a great weekend. Lets hope for more sunshine in Vancouver!

VANS x Hello Kitty: I Finally Own a Pair!

This is out of the norm to blog about shoes, but it's Hello Kitty! I have been wanting a pair of VANS x Hello Kitty shoes since the first launch back in 2011. I was attracted to some of the older designs but it wasn't enough of a push for me to purchase a pair...until now!

More Added to My Washi Tape Collection

Happy Friday! I purchased new washi tapes since the last time I posted about these addicting crafting tape. You can read the post on my initial collection (or more like when the obsession have started). Click here to read about it.

10 new washi tapes added to my collection

My good friend, Bunnie Pie, gave me a Hello Kitty box filled with candies. I decided to make the box a crafting storage for my current favourite supplies: washi tape and twine. The box is really cute! It also has dividers to separate the items.

Hello Kitty box

I would say my favourite washi tape is the one with the airmail design; hence placing it on the top middle :P Lately, I've been drawn into the airmail envelopes, vintage stamps, and all that style. It's so pretty!

Washi tape and twine

Rest assured, I didn't buy these tape at full price. At Michaels Store, the regular price is $8.50 CDN. I usually wait for the 40% or 50% off coupons or even big sales. This week, the tapes were as low as $1.79 CDN! The splurge was the "Made with ♥" design which was $4.25 CDN.

On sale! Some for $1.79 CDN

I'm going to take a break from buying washi tapes and enjoy what I have right now :)

Have a wonderful weekend!

Hello hello! My sunflower munchkins have been growing quite fast during the weekend. It's something I look forward to see every morning :)

I planted five seeds in total and the third one popped out on Day 9.

Day 9: So cute!

And on Day 10, the fifth seed came out. A little late, but that's okay :)

Day 10: All 5 together

I forgot to take a picture on Day 11, but the bottom photo is the most recent one.

Day 12: So pretty :*)

Isn't it excited?! ...or is it just me? :) Have a wonderful week!

Mother's Day Origami Dress

Happy Mother's Day!

Here's a card that I was inspired by a picture that I pinned on Pinterest. I was preparing for an origami session and my mom told me how much she love the dress. From that,  I decided to make an origami dress card for Mother's Day. The origami dress tutorial was taken from Inklings and Yarns' blog.

Day 1: Growing My Little Sunflower Munchkins

Another sunny Friday afternoon in Vancouver! I'm definitely enjoying this.

To take advantage of my day off, I decided to grow some sunflower munchkins. Despite my allergic reaction to pollen, I am determining to spend more time outside and grow something this year. I hope this will turn out okay.

Day 1: Planting

Did you know...
Sunflower seedlings need daily watering once they are in the ground. If the seedlings get dried out, they will wither (Source: Barb Hacker). I'm assuming in pots too?

Please leave a comment if you have any tips for beginners like me. Even words of encouragement will make me happy :)

Have a wonderful weekend!

It's the Thought that Counts

...And that was what I wrote for BN for giving his birthday card two weeks late.

Sometimes what I envision to make is not what I expect to look like afterwards. I wasn't satisfy with the first card that I made so I had to leave it aside until another idea pops out. Lucky for BN, he gets two birthday cards this year! :)

My New Obsession: Washi Tape

I learned about washi tape over a year ago and I never really researched on where to purchase them...until bff told me that Michaels has its own section!

Washi tape (or crafting tape) is a high quality masking tape made from natural fibers. Best of all, they come with different designs, patterns, and sizes. You can tear it, stick it, reuse it, and even write on it. The low tack adhesive makes it really easy to use. Now you can understand my new obsession....

...Hello, I'm Sheryl and I'm a washi tape user

Within a month, I already have four washi tapes. The Hello Kitty tape (as pictured below), was a gift from bff which I immediately opened it and taped it onto my phone. Thank you!

My collection of washi tape...more to come :)

Acoustic Guitar Card

Well, hello again! I hope everyone is enjoying the new year so far. I made some cards in 2012 and I know it's a little late, but I still want to share them to you!

Back in October, Bff and I bought VIP tickets to attend Clara C and David Choi's concert. The ticket also includes a meet and great with both singers so I was able to give this acoustic guitar card to my favourite YouTube video producer, David Choi! This was my first time giving a handmade card to a well-known person and I was happy to see him receiving it and playing the acoustic guitar card as if it was real :)

♥ Light brown with small polka dots (Holiday Collection stack) by DCWV
